PERINATAL SUPPORT

Specialist Support During the Perinatal Period

The perinatal period can be both exciting and deeply challenging. Many people experience unexpected emotional difficulties during pregnancy, after loss and in early parenthood. You do not have to face these challenges alone.

I provide specialist support in perinatal mental health, helping you navigate infertility, pregnancy loss, birth trauma, difficulties bonding with your baby, and the transition to parenthood. My doctoral research focused on women's experience of pregnancy loss, subsequent pregnancy and maternal attachment, which informs my sensitive and compassionate approach.

Understanding Pregnancy Loss

Pregnancy loss is a unique type of grief, often referred to as an invisible or silent loss, which can have a profound psychological impact on many areas of life. Because public awareness and recognition of this type of loss are limited, many people feel unable to speak up or seek support.

In therapy, we explore your personal experience, the meanings attached to it, and any emotions that arise. This allows you to process grief safely, regain perspective, and begin to move forward at your own pace.

A Safe and Supportive Space

Whether you are experiencing infertility, pregnancy loss, birth trauma, or adjustment difficulties, I provide a non-judgmental, confidential and compassionate space to explore your experiences.

Therapy can help you:

  • Understand and process difficult emotions

  • Navigate changes in identity and relationships

  • Strengthen bonding and connection with your baby

  • Build coping strategies and resilience

  • Develop self-compassion and insight
